Fansite orders wow I've been a busy bee...hopefully my income will cover everything. I've donated, sent messages of support, sent videos etc...too bad my own project didn't go anywhere. FML.

And now I have to count potential concert tickets which sucks.

the dilemma )
So Hmart had a 10% off sale. I went for a quick browse, hoping to get a GOT7 or VIXX album if they were around... and ended up getting EXODUS even when I thought I'd leave it alone. The sale got to me.

It's G-Dragon's fault for killing the internet, announcing his arrival in London so suddenly last week. In all honesty, I was hoping to randomly bump into him at say a Costa Coffee branch in Central London. Saw a pic of him having a Costa drink while out for a walk.

Naturally he's very good with the Ninja skill and it's not easy for everyone to work out where he was last seen unless you know your way around London or the UK very well. I even carried two Sharpies along with my usual notepad for random doodles and note-taking, little Givenchy sponsored Singapore Airlines purse and a Boy London label, with hope that he might give me his autograph. Of course that never happened.

Not sure if I could even muster the courage to just walk up to him and ask for an autograph or even a photo. Security could be tight around him when it comes to Sasaeng fans and I didn't want to be seen as one of those mentally unstable fans too.

It's interesting how he was given MV locations around London that were considered edgy. It somehow matches his personality or music style. East London does have small boutiques in studio apartments and there is also the Boy London store "Sick." I'd like to think the area appeals to artistic people in the same way Camden does. But given the expensive labels he is often seen wearing he also hits the department stores (Selfridges or Bicester) and rich man streets (Dover Street Market). You're an interesting chameleon, GD. Year Zero London is in Piccadilly and that's got the same kind of vibe as Sick. Actually that seems to be the go to place/highly recommended store for Kpop musicians.
I went for food, traditional culture, cute plushies and the music :)

GD was briefly mentioned in the summer issue of H&M's magazine :-O This is the second time I've seen a UK-based magazine use that same photo of him with the seaweed hair/thick weave (Time Out London used that same photo when they had an issue on cool trends). Surely H&M found funkier photos around the web. G-Dragon has so many costumes to choose from.

I finally watched G-Dragon when he was on Thank You episodes 3 + 4 and got a little emotional. Some of the stuff he talked about I remember him mentioning it in previous interviews but this setting was appropriately intimate with the people he was talking to. Nothing holding him back. No gun pointing to him. He just talked naturally. NEGL I wish I could talk to older folk like that, get insight on their experiences. That's if I was a famous person though.
I want some proper BB clones yo )

How utterly cute is GD here? His message to SE7EN is sweet. Really liked how he referred to SE7EN with -sama in this clip. TBH his eyes were distracting. Normally I get that with TOP but with GD it's like a notch higher in the hot eyes area o_O Oh and he's wearing the "DOPE" hat from Year Zero London. Guess he did buy it then.

I'm going to try to write a review of the Big Bang Alive Tour in Seoul DVD when I'm not job hunting. If it goes well I might put it on the other blog I write for.
I went to visit Dover Street Market for the first time, just to get out of the house and avoid any embarrassing encounter with the intentional visitors later on. I only had a browse around the ground floor, third and fourth floor. I think my little visit lasted 30 minutes or something. I just went to look at the women's clothes upstairs and briefly took a browse at the various jewellery and clothes on ground floor. I guess I got too intimidated by the pricing and the quality of the clothes I didn't bother checking out the menswear.

So much for doing what I did in Selfridges where I just imagined GD wearing these flashy clothes and I could have a fangirl moment. I didn't bother today. The price tags were nuts. I couldn't deal with it so left right away.

I thought I'd be told to sod off as soon as I walked in because I did not dress smartly or looked rich. I was in jeans, black walking shoes and a puffy jacket. Not quite Chav or anything. But there were tourists looking around too and they were casual. I did think the women's Givenchy bags were nice though. Saw them on Harrods' website when I was looking at Givenchy products. Didn't realise Clinique was so much cheaper than Givenchy's beauty stuff.
Ever since GD came back to London to do a little shopping and then headed to Paris for fashion shows it made me curious to see which shops he went to. I probably wouldn't be as welcome with my average appearance and don't flash the likes of Chanel or LV on my bag and clothes. Maybe it might be like in Pretty Woman where Julia Roberts is in her normal outfit and she walks into a clothes shop with the staff all looking at her weirdly.

Anyway I've been to Year Zero London and my visit lasted 15 mins approximately. It's a small shop and the French employee explained everything was on sale. It was quite cheapish overall that day but I think in general the items you see in there are very expensive. None of the stuff suits me. I think my parents would be mightily pissed off if I splashed some cash on the weird, alternative clothing or anything Gothic. Some of the accessories in Year Zero are very G-Dragon which makes me laugh. I could see him wear the obscure bling.

I haven't been to Dover Street Market yet but maybe when I'm free during the weekend I will go take a peek. I managed to find Boy London clothes in Selfridges, mainly in the mens' streetwear section (Selfridges' Boy London ladies clothing is only available online). They had the caps, beanie hats, t-shirts and jumpers. I was just admiring how simple the t-shirts looked but still rather annoyed with how they're worth £50+. Will probably check out Sick Store as well since that's the main Boy London store but the prices are the same. I also browsed the Givenchy rack on the same floor. The blazers and coats were funky. I just pictured G-Dragon standing in front of me wearing one of the jackets and looking incredibly fuckable so cool.

A VIP managed to get her Givenchy bag signed by GD when she saw him at Dover Street. The only Givenchy item I have is a very simple cosmetics case from Singapore Airlines. I didn't even know it was Givenchy until I looked at it more carefully. Even if I did have it on me I doubt GD would sign it because it looks so cheap ^_^;;

Well there's a DIY post on how to get the Kpop military style through UK stores. Why do the rare kinds of clothing have to be pricey? It sucks.
I'm living in lucid dreams...uh huh yeah.. uh huh yeah...

The song I'm referring to is this one by Franz Ferdinand (I went to this iTunes gig, sadly did not get on camera despite being near the barrier). Wow I haven't listened to them in a long time but I've been having too many lucid dreams lately. Bigbang thanks for making me fangirl so much. I blame stress mostly.

I really have to stop freaking out over G-Dragon visiting London recently (I am not joking I accidentally got overexcited while waiting for my delayed train at King's Cross and was checking Twitter last Thursday with Big Bang music playing in my earphones). He's in Paris now for various fashion shows. I cannot stalk him if he's shopping in London again. No matter how tempted I am. I just won't do it.

If it was a genuine passing by or an accidental bump in the shoulder as we walk in different directions then that's something else. Or if he saw me first and something bizarre occurred afterwards...yeah not happening let's just stop thinking about this XD Fangirl dreaming going too far now. Actually I probably wouldn't recognise him if he's wearing lots of clothes or changes his hair colour again. Do you know how many Asians/fellow yellows shop in London?

GD and/or his stylists go to all these shops I've never heard of. I find this educational. I'm learning more about my London without realising it. I should thank GD ^_^;;
I don't know if any Malaysians and Singaporeans on f-list have seen this video from July 2012 but was going around for a bit during the summer. One of my relatives posted it on FB.

Very unhappy customer is my subtle way of putting it. Uncle is swearing like hell in this, mostly in Malay but he then switches into other dialects. He's seriously pissed off for being cheated by the company o_O

I showed the family this video and they said the police were stupid for just standing around. I don't know...didn't the Uncle tell them to just not touch him? Should they have arrested him straightaway? Blah.

Kpop is coming

Been reading a lot of Manga lately. Shouldn't read too many different series in one go. All I have right now is Black Butler, Ouran High School Host Club and Absolute Boyfriend. Out of these titles I definitely like Black Butler and Ouran. Black Butler is still going so I won't rush with that series.

On the subject of Kpop, I recently discovered that a Central London HMV store are starting to sell physical copies of Kpop albums. Will have to go see what is available as I am going to Central London this Saturday anyway (going to try to catch Jersey Boys singing in department store). I remember seeing one or two Jpop CDs a very long time ago in HMV Piccadilly Circus store. They had Gackt, BoA and Hamasaki Ayumi from what my memory tells me. I think one band that might have trouble finding a specific shelf is Dir en grey as I've seen them in the World Music section and another store had them in the metal area. Either way I think it's great that Kpop is starting to surface into the public eye through HMV. It will probably appeal to RnB and hip hop fans in the UK more than Otakus who have dug deep into Animanga, Jpop and Jrock.

I still think Jrock (and I guess Jpop) is going to have a difficult time being taken seriously and remain underground, accessible to those who have that interest and who stumble across it through the power of the web or word of mouth. It just saddens me how people mock the very idea of Visual Kei or how Japanese metalheads can't rock out like their favourite bands from this side of the globe. That's cultural division for you.

I was reading through old posts and remember I wrote about the BBC board. My previous post about a Britishchineseonline.com thread in regards to the Korean wave and how popular it was. The rather annoying elitism in the posts was a reminder of why I have this ongoing grudge against the Kpop fandom which has easily caught up with the same leve of insanity as Jrock fandom drama.
